Transplanted to San Diego from a tulip farming town in Washington – and influenced by artists as diverse as Loretta Lynn, Tammy Wynette, Dolly Parton and June Carter to Tom Petty, Bruce Springsteen and John Mellencamp — Petite has toured all over the U.S. and Europe.
Rocking out with her band, Sara Petite and the Sugar Daddies, she also has a rootsy 3-piece Classic Country, swampy sounding ensemble, Sara Petite and the Sweet Pea Possums. Sara also tours as a solo artist and has opened for many greats such as Josh Turner, Marty Stuart, Lonestar, Todd Snider, Dave Alvin, Ol 97s, John Eddie, Richie McDonald, Trent Tomlinson, Ralph Stanley, Steve Poltz and more…
“There is no medical evidence to prove that Lucinda Williams, Nanci Griffith and Carrie Rodriguez joined forces to mother a fully grown musician daughter … But if they did, San Diego singer-songwriter Sara Petite would be the likely outcome.” – George Varga, San Diego Union Times.
“She reminds me of a female Johnny Cash” – Jerry Rainey from the Cult band The Beat Farmers
“She can sing a buzzard off of a slop wagon.” – Mojo Nixon, Sirius Outlaw Country Radio
Sara Petite is a gifted singer-songwriter who possesses the unique ability to reach the hearts and souls of fans young and old. She has the rare gift to craft songs that appeal equally, but are interpreted differently by fans of diverse perspectives. This comes through in her live performances as well. A true original, Sara’s music does not conveniently fit into any one musical genre or sub-category, but rather traces her influences in country, bluegrass, rock and folk, and emerges into a sound completely her own. As welcome in senior citizen centers as she is in biker bars, nightclub venues and festivals, Sara is as American as apple pie and Harley Davidson. She is gritty, she is wild, she is tender with a soul of a child.
Sara has four CDs; her most recent is Circus Comes to Town. Previous releases are Doghouse Rose, Lead the Parade and Tiger Mountain.
“Lisa is a phenomenal artist…and I’m taking her under my wing.”
~ Lucinda Williams, Grammy winning singer-songwriter
Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania, Lisa Sanders began singing on the street corner at an early age with her older brother Ty. Her mother remarried, moving Lisa and her brother to Argentia, Newfoundland Canada. It was then that all of the siblings now numbering 5 began listening to music and performing for her parents in a home where music was played daily.
The influences of Motown, Johnny Cash, the television show He Haw, together with a mixture of Southern Rock, European Rock, Classical, all things Pop and some Gospel music as well was what formed this artist. After moving to Southern California were Lisa grew as an artist even more and wrote her first song there.
She was signed with Cargo Earth Records Label in 1993. Isn’t Life Fine was then released to rave reviews and awards. The CD was produced by Josquin DePres. The album was followed by a Re release on MCA records and a publishing deal with Wind Swept Pacific Then came Lisa’s 1999 Cargo release of Life Takes You Flying.
After her Maya Jade release of Hold on Tightly in 2004, Lisa had a chance meeting with Lucinda Williams which led to a ten year contract for Lisa opening concerts with Lucinda .She was then encouraged by Lucinda to learn about the Blues, which she certainly did.The way Lisa explains the effects of that is “As a black woman I had a musical spiritual awakening. It transformed the way I view myself and my music forever.” And you can hear it in her music clearly.
.m.e. (Marion) Law is a Canadian singer/songwriter who is building a strong local following. Her superb 2014 album Peace, Love, Death and Chocolate showed her unique sound – songs that are sophisticated musically, with floating, lilting vocals. The thing with Law is the lyrics, and these are wickedly clever and humorous observations of modern society and pop culture. She’s back with Laughing my AO, more of the same and presented as a comedy EP/ It’s a great listen, from an artist who needs to be heard. (Frank Kocher, Troubadour Magazine) m.e. has been performing internationally for decades for everyone from lumberjacks in Northern British Columbia to Japanese royalty and rock stars – her music has been featured in Canadian TV – even a Romero zombie flick. She has been played regularly on Women of Substance radio now for almost two years.
Influenced by the richness, strength and passion of the greats, Donna Larsen was inspired to form her own unique vocal style. While still a teenager, she began playing her original music on acoustic guitar in coffee houses and restaurants in San Diego County. She built on her musical experiences while performing in North America from Alaska to Oaxaca, and from Prague to Budapest and Vienna. Exposure to these varied cultures has contributed to her music becoming more insightful, and socially and spiritually conscious.
Donna is a Billboard Award Winning songwriter, and thrives on writing and performing music that is thought provoking, positive and emotionally alive. Donna is so grateful to be consistently rated as one of the top San Diego Singer-Songwriters at Reverbnation. She loves sharing her PopCoustic music locally, where it has expanded to include a full band, The Donna Larsen Band. Her PopCoustic music brings hearts and minds to an awareness of the limitless possibilities in life, sharing a depth of emotion and insight that’s unique and refreshing. Donna feels that music is the most wonderful gift and allows her to build a beautiful connection to everyone who experiences her music.
Along with performances and producing the San Diego Indie Acoustic Original Artist Showcases, this creative soul is currently in Noisy Cricket Studio producing the CD for her “In My Own Backyard”. This beautifully illustrated Children’s Picture Songbook/CD Set, offers up heartwarming and imaginative songs about all that is real and imagined. The music, lyrics, and artwork are loved by parents and children alike.
